Center for Creative Leadership Offers Executive Leadership Training

What do famous leaders such as Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf and Michael Dell of Dell Computers share in common?
As leaders in training, both men received leadership instruction through the Center for Creative Leadership.
Much like these notable leaders, more than 20,000 professionals and 2,000 organizations across the globe receive executive leadership training through the Greensboro-based business each year, says Stephen Martin, manager of Global Public Relations.
“We offer innovative leadership solutions to a worldwide audience from CCL campuses and network associate locations across North America, Europe and Asia,” Martin says. “We have a strong research presence at all of our campuses.”
CCL was born in 1970, when Greensboro business pioneer H. Smith Richardson Sr. recognized the need for business owners to learn adaptability and innovation in the face of changing marketplace conditions.
Today, the nonprofit institution employs nearly 600 faculty and staff and another 500 adjunct faculty members worldwide. In addition, approximately 470,000 leaders have graduated from the program.
With the current economy, teaching leaders how to find creative solutions is more important than ever, Martin says. With new podcasts, books, instruction material and webinars, CCL is addressing today’s business concerns.
“A number of independent studies have shown that leadership education pays off in the long run, and a lot of our clients are subscribing to that belief,” Martin says.
While the company is working to make a global impact for leadership in the 21st century, it is also making an impact locally. Each year, the Greensboro campus generates an estimated $2.5 million in hotel revenue. Guests who visit CCL also pump money into the community through the Piedmont Triad International Airport and other local businesses.
